Programmatic Initiatives

The Highlands School has developed a most effective and unique approach to teaching students with learning differences through a synthesis of proven teaching methods, available brain research and well over 200 years of collective experience. The programs for our students are individualized, multi-sensory, systematic, sequential, and structured for success. The unique programs we offer, in addition to our educational program for students, such as professional training to educators and parents in the community, our intensive, remedial five week summer program and our newly instituted tutoring program all require substantial investment in order to keep them state-of-the-art.

An investment in support of our Educational Programs will allow for:battell

  • Support to update, document and standardize training methods and programs for faculty and staff
  • Our Distinguished Speaker Series to continue and be available to the greater community.
  • The inclusion of updated technology in the classrooms as well as specialized educational materials best suited to this individualized program ribbon
  • Professional Development programs on learning differences to be made available to public as well as non-public school professionals.
  • The introduction of new programs and materials for the classrooms

A child who learns differently needs to be taught differently.
